I tremble as I bow my head low
Surrounded by millions, nowhere to go
Mixture of fear and thrill running through my veins
Looking at my feet I see a pile of chains

Heavy, painful chains loosened from my hands
I’m a former slave, overwhelmed I silently stand
A thunderous voice laced with sweetness, calls my name
Slowly lifting my eyes, filled with shame

My name is repeated and our eyes finally meet
A surge hits me, my heart skips a best
My eyes lower and fall on the mercy seat
A blood covered name, made whole and complete

Unworthy, unholy, unfit and ungodly for such a place
Overwhelming thoughts in my mind that race
The judge slams the desk, dismissing my case..
“You are worthy from my Son’s unfailing grace” He states

We share a smile like old friends
God of the universe and me? It’s hard to comprehend
Both knowing His Son’s death brought amends

Daunting and exhausting
Thickness fills the air
Am I not burdened?

Questions plague me hourly
Is this what life has to offer?

Where is the sanity at?

Yet He carries me everyday
Faithful, something the world doesn’t get

Silence fills the familiar void
Simple things that were once enjoyed
At times prying eyes that you try to avoid

Strength comes from another world
Calmness invades, as my mind swirls
Peace fills my soul and my mind
As my world is once again aligned

A life full of choices and options
Kind of like something like adoption
For slow and steady wins the race
And I’ll make it home by His grace

Watching me now like I live in a glass vase
Trapped, yet free still looking to run
One track mind as I slide into home base
Yet can’t run until my time here is done

Open doors and new possibilities
Yet my heart yearns for more
Feeling the worlds hostilities
